Annual Summer Book Sale

One Sale. Two Years. Infinite Stories—Don’t Let This Book Bonanza Slip Away!

Heads up, New Milford! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library are sounding the alarm: their 2024 Summer Book Sale—happening July 11–13 at New Milford High School—is the last one for at least two years due to major library construction.

And they’re not exaggerating. Their own words say it all:

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”

So what’s on the table?

  • Thursday, July 11:
    • 9–10 a.m.: Early Bird Hour – $5 gets you first access to the best picks
    • 10 a.m.–7 p.m.: FREE entry for all
  • Friday, July 12:
    • 10 a.m.–6 p.m.: Full browsing, zero pressure
  • Saturday, July 13:
    • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.: EVERY BOOK HALF PRICE! Yes—everything must go!

Thousands of gently used books across every genre await: page-turning fiction, practical how-tos, children’s favorites, cookbooks that spark joy, and hidden gems you won’t find online.

But here’s the truth: there will be no sale in 2025. None in 2026. If you wait, you’ll miss out—not just on deals, but on the joy of discovery in a community-built book haven.

So bring bags. Bring boxes. Bring your curiosity.
This isn’t just a sale—it’s your literary lifeline until 2027.
